Elevated Water Storage Reservoirs

YEC has designed and supervised the construction of reinforced-concrete water-storage towers across Belize — notably in the northern villages of San Felipe and Douglas, and at Sunday Wood in the south. After southern Belize was shaken by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake in 2009, at the request of the Caribbean Development Bank and the Belize Social Investment Fund, YEC pioneered the use of reinforced-concrete X-bracing for enhanced lateral-load resistance.
