YEC was the Engineer of Record for the trailblazing Alaia Autograph Collection Hotel in San Pedro. The first high-end Marriott-brand hotel in Belize, Alaia boasts three 5-storey condominium buildings, six beachfront villas, a large central pool with swim-up bar, and a suspended swimming pool thirty feet above ground with glass windows in the floor — the first of its kind in Belize. YEC brought deep structural-engineering experience to realise the architects' vision, including an innovative solution to ensure the integrity of the suspended pool situated between two wings of a condominium building.
