Carlton N. Young, P. E. (California), P.Eng (Belize)
Principal / Project Manager / Engineer

Mr. Carlton Young is the Principal of the firm. He is responsible for all engineering work and holds ultimate responsibility for all supervision and management. Mr. Young holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in structural engineering, both from the University of California at Berkeley, and is registered as a professional engineer both in the United States and Belize. He has participated in a wide variety of projects around the world and in Belize for more than fifteen years. Mr. Young is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.

Emory K. Bennett
Construction Manager

Mr. Emory Bennett is responsible for coordinating projects, monitoring construction works and progress, interfacing with contractor personnel, and coordinating testing and other quality assurance programs. Mr. Bennett holds an associates degree in physics and mathematics from the Belize Technical College and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Belize. He has attended training courses in construction technologies and has worked on a variety of projects with YEC.

Alberto Arredondo, P. Eng. (Belize)
Associate Engineer
 
Mr. Alberto Arredondo performs civil and structural engineering analysis and design and also assists in project supervision and quantity calculations. Mr. Arredondo holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering, from Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba and is registered as a professional engineer in Belize. He has been working on various design and construction projects over the last six years, including three years of work in Belize. Mr. Arredondo is fluent in Spanish and English.

Sylvia Garoy
Office Manager

Ms. Garoy is responsible for all administrative management, including preparation of reports and proposals, managing files and records, tax filing, and bookeeping.

Kenrick Munnings
Technician

Mr. Kenrick Munnings is responsible for producing detailed AutoCAD drawings as well as taking site measurements and levels. Mr. Munnings holds an Associate’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Belize and has worked for 8 years with YEC.

Architect & Constrction Engineer

Mr. Vance Titus is both a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Architect in Belize, and has worked alongside YEC on numerous projects over the last two years. Mr. Titus has more than 35 years of experience in the engineering-construction industry, particularly in Project management. Mr. Titus holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Washington State University and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University, both in the United States.

Sumathi Courtenay, B.Arch, M.APAB
Architect

A registered professional architect with over 17 years of experience, Mrs. Sumathi Courtenay has worked alongside YEC on a number of projects, both as Lead Architect and as an Architectural Design Consultant. Mrs. Courtenay holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West Indies.

Lucien Chung, P. Eng
Civil Engineer

Mr. Lucien Chung is a civil engineer specializing in water, wastewater, drainage and environmental engineering. Mr. Chung holds a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a Master degree in Hydrology for Environmental Management from the University of London-Imperial College. He has extensive experience in the water and environmental fields in both Jamaica and Belize.

Hector Paiz, Ing. Civ.
Geotechnical & Highway Engineer

Ing. Hector Paiz provides geotechnical engineering expertise to YEC, including field testing & sampling, laboratory testing, and design of pavements & foundations in complex subsurface conditions. Mr. Paiz has some 30 years of experience to go with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of San Carlos in Guatemala, and a masters degree specializing in Soil Mechanics, Bridges & Highways from the University of Kumamoto in Japan. Mr. Paiz is fluent in Spanish and conversational in English.
